Abstract
Nigrin's "Neural Networks for Pattern Recognition" (1993)
is clearly written and presents a series of interesting insights
and developments in a nonmystifying way. This commentary discusses
specific issues such as the presynaptic paradigm and translation
and size invariance.
Keywords
geometric transformation invariance, neural network
models, pattern recognition.
