Abstract
In this commentary, the thought experiment discussed by
Jarvilehto (1998) is reviewed and revised. The methodology of the
thought experiment that investigates the efferent influences on
receptors in knowledge formation actually investigates the
opposite. Moreover, it is invalid, in that it uses conditions
that are impossible in principle. I will discuss the methodology of
the thought experiment and propose another approach.
